We asked László Csáki about his upcoming animated film, Blue Pelikán, which also features Primanima award winner Máté Horesnyi. He also shared his opinion on the films Fekete-fehér and Chris, a svájci.

The film has been selected in numerous animation film festivals' official programmes around the world, like Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Kaboom Animation Festival, Animateka International Animated Film Festival, etc. With it's unique dark graphic atmosphere and extraordinary storytelling, Fox Tossing won the prize of the Best Graduation Film of the 11th Primanima. In this short interview Zénó gives us some insight of his inspiration on the topic and the visual style.

Réka Bucsi (1988) is an independent animation filmmaker from Hungary. She earned her BFA and MFA at the animation department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest. Her graduation film Symphony no. 42 was shortlisted for an Oscar in 2014. Her films were screened in official shorts competition programmes at Berlinale, SXSW, Sundance, Annecy, and won over 50 international awards. In 2013/2014 she attended Animation Sans Frontiéres (ASF), a European animation production workshop.

Itzel, a young girl of Mayan descent, goes on a camping trip with her father deep in the jungle. As they stargaze together, Itzel’s curiosity leads her to wander off and explore. While wandering, she discovers a jaguar in captivity and, without hesitation, frees the majestic animal. However, their escape is short-lived. While trying to escape, she stumbles upon a mysterious lost Mayan city and experiences a vision of the city’s glory days, guided by a magical jaguar, called Balam.
