Synopsis:
Animated short film exploring the process of how spontaneously occurring events synchronize with each other due to timing and nostalgia.

The animated video clip was created as a closing ceremony at UMPRUM in Prague. Four second-year students were challenged to combine their different approaches to visuals and animation itself. The central motifs of the film are the range of cartoon animation and the building of friendship, metaphorically represented in the theme of this work.

Lake is liquid, inanimate, emotionless. Like blood flowing through a body, the water circulates and sustains, bringing life to its surroundings. In this video, life is continuously reborn through the raindrops, through the terrain and into the air. The beauty of this process is juxtaposed with the songwriter’s perspective, someone who is detached and yearning to feel the full breadth of human emotion.

Henry meanders through Wyrmlands, the remains of England consumed by the giant worm of capitalism. Amidst his despair, he recalls an act of kindness. As a child, innocent and loving, he saved an injured worm. Perhaps salvation is possible if he can reconnect with his inner child.

An unusual experience is provided by the video clip of the versatile artist Ben Clement for the group Camp Saint Helene. Their nostalgic sixties psychedelic rock sound matches Clement’s animation technique: cameraless direct animation, commonly used in experimental films.

There is an amusement park standing beneath my heart, which fulls with excitement, happiness, leisure and mystery. It walks from irreproducible 1990s, and accompanies me through every night.

What will be after death? A lot of people thinking about this question. A lot of groups have very different opinion but majority of tham have one thing similar. Almost all religions are convinced that they are right. I wrote this movie, with my friend Karel Vžtrovsků, in time when we were slowly breaking out of the Christian prison in our minds, where we grew up and where we were imprisoned for a long time.
