Synopsis:
A hand-drawn film in which the author makes use of numerous metamorphoses and the charm of blurred watercolour drawing. At the same time, however, her disturbing film, which takes place in a divided picture, bears elements of horror and dark existential drama. The theme is alienation and loneliness in the age of digital media and the confrontation of a person with a cold image on a monitor.

A poetic video clip from the workshop of the Máj author pair introduces us to an imaginary landscape in which, with the help of simple symbolism, we follow the problematic relationship between a man and a woman. The graphic aesthetic is dominated by the motif of the hands that the heroes manipulate against the background of the themed horizon.

Lake is liquid, inanimate, emotionless. Like blood flowing through a body, the water circulates and sustains, bringing life to its surroundings. In this video, life is continuously reborn through the raindrops, through the terrain and into the air. The beauty of this process is juxtaposed with the songwriter’s perspective, someone who is detached and yearning to feel the full breadth of human emotion.

Sweet Like Lemons (2023) is a visual reflection on getting out of a harmful relationship and moving on. The title is a play on the saying “when life gives you lemons make lemonade”, only in this case there is no lemonade to be made but the lemons still taste sweeter than what you left behind.
