First World War. 19 years-old Maï, sailor and deserter, crosses paths with Anna, 16 years old, young widow who just lost her husband to the trenches. Their horizon seems obstructed… but little by little, Maï and Anna revive eachother’s flame and desire from freedom.
Gorgeous Sleeper Cell is a fan music video for Seattle-based abstract rap duo Shabazz Palaces. It narrates an abstract story based on the duo’s poetic, almost symbolistic lyrics. We watch some sort of a genie who got into our reality from his animated world.

Réka Bucsi (1988) is an independent animation filmmaker from Hungary. She earned her BFA and MFA at the animation department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest. Her graduation film Symphony no. 42 was shortlisted for an Oscar in 2014. Her films were screened in official shorts competition programmes at Berlinale, SXSW, Sundance, Annecy, and won over 50 international awards. In 2013/2014 she attended Animation Sans Frontiéres (ASF), a European animation production workshop.
Acclaimed animation directors Péter Vácz and Joseph Wallace led an intensive four day stop motion workshop as part of the PRIMANIMA World Festival of First Animations in Budapest (Oct. 2017). Twelve international participants joined the directors to learn the practice and theory around their methodologies of creating cinematic puppet animation from simple materials.

Despite its title, this pixilated film portrays unsuccessful dating. The film’s main protagonist with a horse’s head uses an unconventional dating app reminiscent of old 8-bit games to help him find a soul mate. But even the best dating app cannot anticipate the reactions of the unicorns that we sometimes think we are.
