Morana
Synopsis:
Animated film using digital animation technique. The film depicts the Slavic embodiment of winter, Morana, which symbolizes death, cold and unpleasant feelings. According to folk customs, the figure of Morana is brought out and burned every year to celebrate the end of winter. But is this figure really only negative? Is she not just misunderstood and unappreciated? After all, if nature did not rest in winter, spring could not come.

Individual schizophrenically narrated episodes take us through the instrumentalisation of life by creating pulp (mirroring the film itself) and personifying a machine. The film is rooted in the director’s infinite hatred of computers and, in a deeper sense, explores the boundaries of resistance in the digital age.

A Poodle is trying to cook herself a meal when a friend calls her on the phone and wants to chat. Poodle wants to chat too, but the phoneline is too short to reach all the way to the kitchen counter. Our hero wishes she could split herself in two so she could cook and chat at the same time – and, in the end, she does exactly that.

Death of a beloved pet is hard to deal with, and even if we try to prepare for it, it often takes us by surprise. This is the story of a boy and his dog Dede, who suddenly passes away. Lost in the depths of grief, the boy eventually discovers that her death does not necessarily mean that Dede is completely gone.

An emotional pilgrimage. City mirrored in space and music. Music transformed into colors, rhythm into editing. EO DE ME is an experimental visualization of music inspired by changes in human emotions. These changes in the image of the FAMU student are also reflected in the varied range of animation techniques used.

The animated video clip was created as a closing ceremony at UMPRUM in Prague. Four second-year students were challenged to combine their different approaches to visuals and animation itself. The central motifs of the film are the range of cartoon animation and the building of friendship, metaphorically represented in the theme of this work.

Edgar’s ordinary life is disrupted by a newborn calf he sees on a tourist trip to a slaughterhouse. He takes it home after finding out that the calf would become a schnitzel.

This anidoc depicts the story and feelings of a woman who became a victim of rape and attempted murder. Her severe trauma is symbolised by a broken mirror and her futile effort to put the pieces back together. A deep probe into her mind maps the way to come to terms with this experience – at least partially.

Czech-Slovak video clip in which a woman sings about a man liking her the way she is. But the man, represented here only by a giant hand, tries to change the woman, on the contrary, as in some mobile application. The creators reflect the insidious desire to improve the partner, supported by the possibilities of modern technologies.

A tragicomic story of Vera, who suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder. She is bullied daily by her own brain, which still reminds her of potential catastrophic scenarios that could happen. However, one particularly hectic morning, something unexpected happens – an unknown criminal appears in the housing estate. Vera has to face bizarre circumstances and not lose her job. Will she succeed? Graduation film.

The figure against the space. The human figure's attempt to rest is disrupted by the surrounding space, which constantly oppresses it. With each attempt to escape, it finds itself in a fight with it again. Is it even possible for it to break this cycle?
