Beryl and her friends work in a Japanese factory in Wales. She is overweight and consequently ridiculed remorselessly by macho supervisor, Vince, who is the bane of her life. However the time comes for Beryl to get even.

Filip lives in a poor neighbourhood. He dreams of writer’s glory and luxurious lifestyle in a more prosperous part of town. One day Filip gets a knock on the door. His neighbour Tereza, an older prostitute that Filip tries to avoid by all means, asks him to write a letter for her fiancé. Filip agrees. And it would all end up fine if a week later Tereza would not show up at his doorstep again, asking him to write an answer to the previous letter. In Blue Lips, Philippe Hamelin was interested in using CGI as a reconstructive tool – in this case to reconstruct a lover’s memory. The story comes from a collection of accounts told by strangers who the artist met on dating sites in 2008. The memory takes form through matter, objects, movement and the senses. In the animation, human mechanisms and machinery are placed in parallel while the apparatus of narrative mechanics is explored. There is a crossover between the human being’s interior movement (feelings) and their movement in space. The dramatic expectations too often linked to representations of love between two men are derailed.
