CEE Animation Workshop 2027: DEADLINE APPROACHING
Apply for the CEE Animation Workshop 2027 by 15 October
The deadline to apply for the CEE Animation Workshop 2027 is fast approaching. Producers, creative teams and animation professionals have until 15 October 2026 to submit their applications for the 9th edition of the year-long training programme.
The upcoming edition will consist of four modules and will support the development of 12 animated projects, while helping producers and creative teams strengthen their skills in animation development, production and networking.
The CEE Animation Workshop is tailor-made to suit the needs of producers and their creative teams with animated projects of any format in development, including shorts, TV projects, feature-length films, hybrid projects and XR. The programme is also open to a limited number of career-oriented participants joining without a project and looking to build a long-term strategy for their company.
The programme is led by renowned producers and animation script consultants who serve as group leaders and closely mentor the projects throughout the year. Returning as group leaders are established producers Annemie Degryse(Lumiere Group, Belgium) and Reka Temple (Cinemon Entertainment, Hungary), alongside script consultants Phil Parker (United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (Hungary).
The 2027 CEE Animation Workshop will consist of four one-week modules, with two taking place online and two on-site. The programme will begin at the end of February 2027 with an on-site module in Riga, Latvia. It will continue online in May, followed by an on-site module in Slovenia in August. The 9th edition will conclude with an online module in October 2027.
Participants will finish the year with a final presentation and pitch, as well as an opportunity to attend the CEE Animation Forum 2027. After completing the Workshop, participants can continue to benefit from the CEE Animation network and gain privileged access to various international industry and market events.
“We are happy to open the call for the 9th generation of projects for the CEE Animation Workshop in 2027. We are preparing an inspirational and tailor-made programme with our team and our esteemed group leaders. We are looking forward to selecting a diverse and international group of new participants and animated projects in development and taking them on a year-long journey of project and skills development and networking,” says Saša Bach, Managing Director of the CEE Animation Workshop.
The workshop is intended for teams with a project in development — up to three participants consisting of a producer, scriptwriter and/or director with an animated project of any format — as well as career-oriented participants without a project who work in the field of animation.
Over the previous four years, the CEE Animation Workshop has helped develop more than 90 projects involving over 250 participants from around the world. More than 200 guest experts, lecturers and animation industry representatives have shared their knowledge with participants, helping them strengthen their professional skills and contributing to the development of animation production in European countries with lower production capacity.
With the submission deadline now just around the corner, interested applicants are encouraged to prepare their materials and submit their projects by 15 October 2026.
