Synopsis:
This animation thematizes a dream that you can’t wake up from. Mubi (夢寐) means dreams you have whilst you are asleep in Japanese. Shakuya mubi (夙夜夢寐) is a four character idiom. It means dreams you have even if you are awake. A young man endures conflict, rapture and anguish. And he will find out why he cannot leave his dream.

Two alpinists, Ola and Bole, embark on the adventure of a lifetime – a winter ascent along the dangerous Messer-Schmidt route. But before they reached the top, they were forced to abandon further ascent. Desperate and losing hope of staying alive, they surrender to thoughts of a happier scenario. The animated film “comes true” of their wishes and the good old search for a better life begins.

Swaying between momentum and dullness, that never-changing cycle is represented by the neon commercials, which command every action of aforementioned residents and create their paradoxical and ouroboric reality.
