In this short interview Zénó gives us some insight of his inspiration on the topic and the visual style.

"Ivan Bogdanov (1973) was born in Sofia and holds a BFA degree in Media & Animation from the Willem de Kooning Academy of Art and Design, Rotterdam (2002). Since then he has been working as a freelance animation director, illustrator and comics artist. He is a co-founder of FinFilm animation studio and Compote Collective. During the last years he has created several award-winning animation films.

For more than 30 years, Steven Woloshen has passionately created over 50 award-winning, abstract films and installations for festivals, galleries and museums. Twice nominated for Canada's Governor General's award, he has received numerous research and creation grants and, most recently, was awarded the 2016 René Jodoin lifetime achievement award, and the 2015 Wiesbaden Lifetime Achievement Award.

Masterclass will focus on the production of the film THE SIREN and a description of using the Motion Capture Technology. The focus of this masterclass will be on the feature-length animated film THE SIREN, on which a large part of the animation of the 3D characters was realised using Motion Capture technology through the Slovak company Artichoke and the animation studio Blue Faces. This is the first ever project of this size to be realised using this technology in Slovakia. This is my final 4-week assignment for 3D Character Animation professional course in The Animation Workshop. Inspired by Jacques Tati’s „Playtime“, I decided to create a character who acts in a more subtle manner. For the second part of the film, I wanted to go all out on physical movements of the whole body to get experience in animating a character running, trying to hold balance and tackle with some object.
