The experimental animated film Resting fog depicts the process of reliving a memory – and the disintegration that follows – through a series of associative images. The film takes place in a fictional, dreamlike sanatorium surrounded by the sea and the setting sun. Faceless shadows wander between the walls of a secluded, forgotten place, waiting to dissolve into their surroundings as darkness sets in, thus becoming permanently lost in a haze of oblivion.
Austrian animation director and media-artist Reinhold Bidner is working in the fields of animation, media art and games. In his Masterclass Encounters & Inbetweens, Reinhold talks about and discuss his artistic animated experiments in between various disciplines, formats and techniques. He will also present images and video excerpts. The session was moderated by Animatricks Creative Director Hämid Shajarian.

But this year, it will snow in the middle of summer and a monster will die.
This short, silent animated pilot for an upcoming children’s series plays with the canonical story of Noah’s Ark, in which Noah was tasked with saving pairs of animals from extinction. The creators, however, add a small but clever twist – a pair of creatures that Noah would definitely not have wanted to save.
