What if it there was a place where we could revisit the memories of a relationship? In this archive of remembrances we are guided through the story of Amélia and Duarte, two people that felt out of love and are trying to cope with the feelings that come after a relationship has ended.
The Near Life Experience might seem to be an odd, extraordinary occurence, but in fact it happens to anyone. Why to be the self-stigma on your fixed, unchanging identity, as if we were never to act, never to desire, never to experience anything new?
As a young boy I fell in love with the Virgin Mary. We spent many decades together. First, she offered me protection from the cold. As a teenager, she introduced me to the secrets of love. But as an adult, this love became flawed. I began to see behind my beloved’s facade. And I discovered her horrifying side.
Amalimbo is the story of Tipuana, a five-year-old girl who experiences the limbo when she tries to pass to “the other side” in her desperate urge to meet again with her recently deceased father. It is a short story that happens in an undefined place in an also undefined future.

In a constant search for closeness, C experiences emotions in all their highs and lows. Even if a familiar phase of togetherness is followed by a rejection of the other person and, accordingly, a sad loneliness, C does not give up. Again and again, new ways are found to find the longed-for closeness and tenderness. And to lose.
Harassed by the day, he runs away in the evening from people and town. He crawls into his little room to sleep. The dream is bringing him the limitless and quiet spaces of solitude. At last, he is alone and free. But the solitude engenders the fear.

What will be after death? A lot of people thinking about this question. A lot of groups have very different opinion but majority of tham have one thing similar. Almost all religions are convinced that they are right. I wrote this movie, with my friend Karel Vžtrovsků, in time when we were slowly breaking out of the Christian prison in our minds, where we grew up and where we were imprisoned for a long time.
