The light signal of a secondary railway station stops the composition of the night train. The railwayman checks the correctness of the axles by tapping on the wheels. All the passengers are asleep, respond to knocking, but do not wake up. Only the passengers in the most elegant part of the train, in the sleeping cars, get upset. They are energetically demanding that the railwayman who taps the wheels with a hammer be driven away. When the train officials do this, the composition starts. Due to a faulty axle on the sleeping car, the train falls into a ravine at one turn.
