Synopsis:
The downside of the meat factory. The processing of living beings into inanimate pieces of flesh for sale for any use. And in the end, that’s what a man lives for. A skeleton walks into a butcher shop and picks out affordable cuts. At the expense of the animal’s life, the creature finds a deepening of its material essence.

Days Off is a short film, an homage to the puppet and city. By combining puppet animation and live action it builds a certain strange kind of reality, a reality that is based in the real world. It is an audiovisual testimony using the language of surrealism, satire, parody, irony and gallows humor, a dark mirror reflecting today’s world.

A story about fisherman, who pulled a skeleton out of the frozen lake. He tries to escape from the skeleton, so he hides in the dark, where he looks for comfort in cheap entertaintment. Yet the reality scratches on the window and fisherman´s hiding place quickly becomes a place full of nightmares. Manipulation, humanity, puppetry – the main themes of this film.
