Synopsis:
Communication is lacking. This can be felt, just like the things that can never be truly spoken. But lack does not mean a black hole, it is a space that fills itself.

Here There gives graphic form to memory’s malleable, straying lines. It begins as a traveler’s sketchbook, drawn in Croatia in the summer of 2014, but details soon fade away into abstract impressions on the edges of memory. Swaying between momentum and dullness, that never-changing cycle is represented by the neon commercials, which command every action of aforementioned residents and create their paradoxical and ouroboric reality.

Two alpinists, Ola and Bole, embark on the adventure of a lifetime – a winter ascent along the dangerous Messer-Schmidt route. But before they reached the top, they were forced to abandon further ascent. Desperate and losing hope of staying alive, they surrender to thoughts of a happier scenario. The animated film “comes true” of their wishes and the good old search for a better life begins.

The author recalls the beginning of the Second World War. Mrs. Sarika moves into a Jewish retirement home. However, what was supposed to be a peaceful autumn of her life turns into the horror of the Holocaust as Mrs. Sarika becomes another one of its numerous victims. The film was inspired by the paintings of George Grosz and Otto Dix.
