Raw and life-a-like stories which are turning into absurd scenes. The Eastern-Europian mentality and relations exposed through Attila Hazai’s pen.
This work is based on aerial attacks that I experienced in my early childhood. The more time passes, the more vividly this memory comes back, and always gives a strong stimulus and an inexplicable disquiet to my creations.
The inspector carefully walks through the streets of the city, avoiding “dangers”. He’s coming home. He washes his feet and reads the newspaper. Suddenly he sees a fingerprint that suddenly starts to run away. The inspector follows him… This cartoon satire on a fantasy burdened with the desire to experience something mysterious, tense and dynamic contains a series of humorous situations and comical details.
On its quest of death and terror, plague approaches a small village. The village knows nothing and lives its normal life…
A horse becomes a man.
The story takes place in an unnamed American metropolis of the 1960s, where a criminal gang led by Prehlađeni Joe (Runny Nose Joe) carries out various criminal acts, but is thwarted by police inspector Maska, using various disguises to track them and catch them in the end.
The film is based on a poem Ciganska, written by Miroslav Krleža, one of the greatest Croatian literary authors. The atmosphere, the complex surreal characters, and furthermore, the choice of an austere Krleža’s poem (1936), shows authors have made an aware reference to German expressionism. That way they have focused on depicting the psyche of characters, particularly stressing out ultimate angst, alienation in urban jungle, or baffling drive for self-destruction.
The script is based on my own story. A story of a girl who spent her early childhood in nature but then had to grow up in a big city…
Boy and girl are fighting as a part of their game. They start slowly by drawing pictures: girl draws flower, boy draws car which run over flower, girl destroys car on a drawing etc… Their fight is increasing until they destroy all the papers and pencils. Nice mixture of animation on real film with very anti-war statement.
The war is always made from the table, even a simple card fight can turn into a big war in the minds of fuzzy players. The Game is a cartoon of a model of government. Film combines action of actors with pastel-drawn animation.
It is a musical fantasy about the awakening of nature and the character from winter hibernation, about the way out of its own world, into a world which is full of beauty and adventures.
A girl stands on top of a building looking down at the city. She jumps. She falls with her eyes closed and eventually finds herself in a pond surrounded by bizarre faces. The falling continues…
A room retains one’s traces of life. I want to question on humans’ being and loss as time flows, by reflecting on the traces left in a room and its elements ranging from space, walls, door, windows, stuffs and so on.
Cartoon about a sculptor who lays an egg and his friends who give it various meanings.
Where ‘Paris is Burning’ meets Hieronymous Bosch. A dip, a shablam, a death drop is when a dancer strikes a pose and dramatically falls on their back. The higher the fall, the spicier the dip. The story follows Shesa Quinn dipping from the top of a skyscraper. Gagged by her stunt, the townsfolk bellow spiral into chaos. Will Shesa land a perfect dip?
Memories, memories, nostalgia, alienation, transience… these are the themes of this animated diary. The film is made outside of the usual forms (screenplay; recording book), and it was created at the moment when the author sat down at the drawing table and started animating.
Dobričina’s people reciprocate the good deeds with such evil that it is too much for Dobričina himself, so he turns into the Devil. Returning evil for evil, he went so far that it was too much even for the devil himself, so he became Dobričina again.
The Devil chills from a hard work day in his favorite hellish arcade in expense of some poor tortured souls. A fresh take on the classic stop motion/ heavy metal marriage, loaded with demons, explosions, candy and teddy bears.
The title of the film is merely a dull excuse to tell a story about loneliness, alienation, fear, and anxiety of the modern man.
Two people living alone on an isolated island. He does fishing and brings the catch to the house, and She does household chores. Finili su Mare bali illustrates mechanical and rooted reactions to life events – everyday and miraculous.
