Synopsis:
An alarm clock wakes a man who washes his face, has breakfast, drives his car to work, spins records, returns home, and takes his pills. It’s a world of circles – often seen from above: an espresso cup, a stairwell, the pills, and the records spinning. At the dance where the music plays, the rhythms evoke images of a butcher slicing head cheese, gears driving other wheels and levers, a combine churning out bales of hay, a butcher cutting chunks of meat for a stew, and boxers punching. Suddenly he sees a fingerprint that suddenly starts to run away. The inspector follows him… This cartoon satire on a fantasy burdened with the desire to experience something mysterious, tense and dynamic contains a series of humorous situations and comical details.

The animated video clip was created as a closing ceremony at UMPRUM in Prague. Four second-year students were challenged to combine their different approaches to visuals and animation itself. The central motifs of the film are the range of cartoon animation and the building of friendship, metaphorically represented in the theme of this work.

Fear is part of our identity, it is our everyday life and we experience it in different ways. We grow up with it, and over time we overcome or suppress it. However, it is always present, transforms itself into something else, follows our steps, and enters our dreams. It is said that fear has big eyes, they grow where we meet the unknown and then, to some aspects of reality, such as time, we give unrealistic proportions. Only when the fear is overcome, the eyes shrink and the picture becomes clearer.
