These are the kinds of films we are grateful to find online after their festival run.

Many people attend animation film festivals like Animateka, Animafest Zagreb, Annecy or even Clermont-Ferrand to discover new animated shorts, or simply to let themselves be amazed by them. 

All of us have experienced a film that touched us profoundly. And many of us have also faced the frustration of being unable to find it afterwards, no matter how hard we searched at other festivals or on streaming platforms. 

What fewer people know is that filmmakers often upload their films to Vimeo or Youtube after completing the festival circuit. This is where the curatorial line of AnimationHUB comes in.

We actively search these archives for our favourite films, and this time we have prepared a selection of works that are each fascinating in their own way. They differ in techniques, genres, and themes, yet  share an almost intangible power that transcends their short format.

All of the films in this selection were made by women directors.
